TRANSPARENT CURTAINS SOFTEN THE LIGHT
Sansusī Well-Being Art Residency
Latvia, 2024
Developed during the Well-Being residency through workshops and everyday encounters with residents of the Aknīste Social Care Centre and Psychoneurological Hospital, TRANSPARENT CURTAINS SOFTEN THE LIGHT grew from shared time, gestures, and conversations. Drawings created by participants became the starting point for an artistic dialogue and were translated into embroidery. Through installation, performance, and the later artist’s book FRINGES, the project carried these relationships forward in material, bodily, and narrative forms.
