HOME WITH BOOKS

Domestic installation / site-responsive gathering

Chalkis, Greece, 2025

Home with Books transformed the living room of my family home into a temporary exhibition and gathering space for one week.

Developed through the reconfiguration of an existing domestic interior, the project presented artist books and related works within a setting shaped by familial references and the material atmosphere of the house itself. Displayed in dialogue with artworks and writings by my late father, references to the work of his teacher, N. G. Pentzikis and the existing domestic environment, the presentation formed an intergenerational constellation of artistic references and evolving family mythology.

The house functioned as an active spatial framework, with bookshelves, artworks and textiles shaping the encounter with the works and situating them within a broader familial and cultural lineage.

Visitors were invited to move freely through the space, sit, browse, converse, and gather informally. Hospitality formed part of the project, allowing the domestic setting to produce intimate and accessible forms of engagement.

The project approached the home as a site to be re-read through artistic framing, exploring how familiarity, memory, and hospitality shape the reception of contemporary art.
