LEEK! LEEK!
Gelbes Haus Art Residency, Switzerland
2025–26
Developed during a three-month residency in Lucerne, LEEK! LEEK! emerged through daily walks observing infrastructural markings and fragments of urban signage. These visual traces were translated into hand-embroidered forms that accumulated into a modular installation presented on found metal structures within the residency space, forming a tactile archive of urban traces.
Works
The White, Green & Pink Series
Embroidered paper pieces translating pre-existing urban symbols into hand-stitched forms.
The Orange Alphabet
Street markings reorganised into a speculative alphabet inspired by the structure of the Greek script, proposing a provisional writing system derived from the technical language of the city.
Participatory
Goals for Life
Participatory encounters developed during the residency. Participants selected embroidered symbols and shared interpretations or associations related to them. Identical symbols circulated among participants, forming a subtle network of shared meanings and connections.
